Quality is very good. Assembly takes a bit and the final cover is very hard to get on. Follow instructions about wire length. Also wire designations are very hard to see but they are there. Ground wire is obvious as it painted green, the white /neutral wire has a very faint "W" next to it. Black wire is unmarked as it's the only one left. This product made an old cable usable again for the fraction of the cost of a new cable.

I was a little skeptical because of the price. But it is a very good product. Nothing about this product was cheaply made. Everything was to NEC code and built to specifications. Nice! The yellow weather boot is just a simple soft rubber enclosure to protect the plug from the weather. I like it’s simplicity and function. People complained that it was difficult to get the yellow cover over the plug but a little soap and a screwdriver to help leverage it onto the plug was all that was needed to complete the work. The plug fits well into its adjoining socket and functions as described. Good product great price!

This is a good value for a hard to find weatherproof L5-30R power cord receptacle. It's advertised as appropriate for RV and Marine usage, which is appropriate. The instructions, however, say it is for interior use only. Say what? Obviously this is a CYA move by the manufacturer when this receptacle is clearly designed for outside weatherproof use... otherwise why would anybody purchase it? The BIG issue is that the device only has a ground (green) marking on the receptacle body for wiring it. And the instructions show you where to wire the white wire but THEY ARE WRONG. Before you take my word for it, check for yourself, because the black and white wires should be reversed from what the instructions say to get correct polarity, Also, the instructions just say "slide" the outer cover on, Ha! At a minimum you need to lube it up with dish detergent and fight to get it on, but better to use a heat gun to soften it up so you can get it in place much more easily..

This is a great completely weatherproof product. Wiring instructions are perfect. Instructions for installing the weatherproof boot are non-existent. It is a very tight fit. I found putting dish soap on the edges helped, but installing the boot was a frustrating battle(but worth it).

It’s very well-made, seems to be quality material. Just make sure you put things together in the right order so you don’t have to take them apart several times like I did.

As posted by other reviews, the wiring diagram in the included documentation is not correct. It has your hot and neutral reversed. Normally on the screw terminals it is clearly marked what is green (ground), white (neutral), and black (hot). Only ground is marked on the back of the receptacle. Be very careful as you wire it and do not use the included instructions.The second thing is this is heavily advertised as a water tight plug designed for outdoor use. If you look at the very first bullet under cautions and warnings in the attached photo, it states it is for indoor use only.

Good quality, easy to assemble went with wiring diagram included no problem. waterproof cover toughest to assemble but a little Dawn did the trick as well as getting ring where it belonged
