A Love Letter to Gorgeous Video
The media could not be loaded. Let me just start with this: the Panasonic LUMIX S5IIX is a beast of a camera, and I’m pretty sure it’s ruined me for anything else. I bought it as a companion to my trusty S1, thinking, “Sure, it’ll be nice to have another option.” But now? The poor S1 is collecting dust because this thing has taken over my life.Video Quality That’ll Make You Double-TakeLet’s talk video, because honestly, this is where the S5IIX really flexes. I’ve always been obsessed with the Arri Alexa—the OG ones from 2010 that only shoot 2K. (Yes, feature films were shot on 2K! What a time to be alive.) So imagine my shock when I stumbled onto a humble little mode on the S5IIX: 1080p at 24fps.I threw the footage onto my computer, braced myself for typical 1080p meh, and…what?! I literally thought my camera had somehow hacked its way into being an Arri Alexa. It’s that good. The richness, the cinematic texture, the way it handles highlights—chef’s kiss. Panasonic, how did you do this? Did you summon the ghost of vintage cinema or cut a deal with Arri under the table?Battery Life That Doesn’t QuitNow, I’m a one-battery kinda guy. (Yes, I live dangerously.) And guess what? This camera gets me. One battery lasts longer than a toddler’s obsession with bubble wrap, which is saying a lot. I’ve gone through full shoots without having to scramble for a backup, which is rare in the mirrorless world. It’s efficient, dependable, and maybe just a little bit magical.Unreal Video CodecsI can’t even scratch the surface of all the video codec options here because there are too many, and frankly, I’m too busy shooting to geek out over specs. But trust me, the flexibility is chef’s kiss (again). Whether you’re shooting for a cinematic masterpiece or just trying to impress your friends with how good your brunch looks, this camera delivers.Who Is This Camera For?• If you live for stunning video quality (and I mean jaw-dropping), you need this.• If you’re a one-battery daredevil like me, you’ll love how long it lasts.• If you dream of Arri Alexa vibes without selling a kidney, this is it.But if you’re one of those people who just wants to snap pictures of your cat for Instagram? Maybe stick to your phone, buddy. This camera is for people who mean business.Final VerdictThe LUMIX S5IIX is hands-down the best camera I’ve ever used in this price range. Between the insane 1080p quality (seriously, how?!) and the reliable battery life, it feels like Panasonic made this camera just for me. If you’re on the fence, consider this your sign: buy it. Your creative future self will thank you.

Amazing!
This camera is amazing. I currently use it with the Lumix S Pro 24-70 and S Pro 16-35. The auto focus and image stabilization features are amazing. I used it at an outdoor event with temperature 110F and this camera didn’t heat up! Very happy with the performance and happy to switch over from the Sony FX3 which is great but Lumix S5iix offers much more!

Great camera! Cool kit options!
Cool camera! This is my first mirrorless and I feel like it takes great pictures and video. Learning it has been fun, still a lot more to go but great quality and love that the lenses are not as much as competitors.I got the 20-60 and 85mm with it for the cost of the body from competitors, great value, crystal clear lenses. I’m very impressed.

The most underrated camera out there right now
We switched from our old Sony cameras and the Blackmagic Pocket 4K cameras to this. I am very happy with this move. This camera is almost the perfect camera. I wish it could tell you the color temperature when you set the white balance via capturing a white set capture in the white balance. This way we can dial in our lights accordingly. Our Sonys and BM Pocket 4K could do this. The autofocus, the BRAW and ProRes RAW capture via external recorder, the V-Log, the tons of lens we can adapt to this, full frame, great low light performance, tilt screen, Waveform monitor, incredible image, massive amount of codecs, and so much more make this almost the perfect camera. Also, if it had EL Zone or False Color, that would be amazing. If they make an EVA-2 with a large 5" monitor and built in ND and with all of these things, it would be the perfect camera.
