We already have a vacuum/mop combo robot from Tuvacs. However, we have to make sure the cables are out of the way, and the doors are secured so the robot doesn't get tangled or trapped behind doors. When I saw Eufy's new Zero-Tangling combo robot, I had to give it a try.So far, I am impressed. The E28 uses AI and machine vision to map out objects on the floor, such as cables, and navigates around them. This technology allows it to effectively avoid common household obstacles that would ensnare other robots. The suction effectively picked up everyday dirt and debris, and the mopping left the floors damp but not soaked, and they dried quickly. Unlike our older Tuvacs, it didn't leave any water on the floor as it enters and exits the docking station.I did observe one slightly annoying behavior. After it finished mapping the floor, I wasn't able to get it to enter an area it considered a no-go zone during the mapping process. An office chair was in the way during that time. After the chair was removed, I wasn't able to get the robot to go beyond the mapped area initially. It eventually remapped and cleaned the area on its own, but I wasn't able to get it to go beyond the boundary before the map was updated.Pros:* Lighting-fast mapping of the rooms. It didn't have to go deep into all corners of the floor to produce a very detailed initial map of the floor. It then refined the map as it did the actual work.* Very clean entry/exit of the docking station.* Very easy to set up. I was able to get the E28 up and running in just a few minutes.* Obstacle avoidance is great. We no longer need to baby the robot.* Uses very little water. The floor looks and feels clean, so the mopping is adequate.* The slimmer, rectangular shape allows it to go through narrower openings, compared to the larger, conventional circular shape of other robots.* The dust bag needs to be replaced periodically.Cons:* The water tank's refill hole is small, making it somewhat difficult to fill without spilling.* Can't get the robot to update its map in real time, or to temporarily override to clean a zone that's previously obstructed. Hopefully a later firmware update would make improvement in this area.I got the E28 so we can use the robot more freely and frequently without needing to do a lot of prep work. It definitely delivered on that and more!

We’ve been using a vacuum-and-mop combo robot from Roborock, which works fairly well but requires us to prep the space by tucking away cables and keeping doors fully open so it doesn’t get stuck or tangled. When I learned about Eufy’s latest combo robot with zero-tangle technology, I was curious enough to give it a shot.So far, I’ve been quite impressed. The E28 leverages AI and visual recognition to identify and steer around floor-level obstacles like cords, reducing the chances of getting caught on anything. This intelligent navigation has proven effective at avoiding the typical pitfalls that trip up other robots. The vacuum handled everyday debris with ease, and the mopping function left the floor slightly damp—never overly wet—and it dried quickly. Unlike our Roborock S8, the E28 doesn’t drip water while docking or undocking.This is MUCH quieter than my Roborock S8, even at max power, which I also appreciated.Highlights:Rapid initial mapping that didn’t require full room coverage to produce an accurate layout, and the map improved as cleaning continued.Smooth, clean transitions into and out of the dock.Setup was a breeze—I had it running within minutes.Obstacle detection is excellent; we no longer have to prep the space as much.Very efficient use of water—floors come out clean without being overly saturated.Its slim, rectangular design allows it to fit through tight spots better than bulkier round models.The dust bag will need changing every so often.Room for Improvement:The water tank’s fill opening is quite narrow, which can make refilling a bit messy.There's currently no way to override the map temporarily or clean areas previously marked as off-limits without waiting for the robot to remap. Hopefully, a future software update will fix this.

We've tested several vacs over the years and a few vac / mop combo's and this is the best unit we've tried so far.Pros:The overall size is quite compact. The vac unit itself is small, quiet yet has powerful suction - best ever. The base unit is also compact considering that it contains a disposal bag, fresh water and discharge tanks - PLUS has a detachable hand unit for spot cleaning. Just Amazing.The mapping is incredibly accurate. The first run through it not only mapped the entire down stairs but it correctly segmented and even labeled all the rooms accurately (kitchen, bathroom, dining room...) - impressive. It also identified where all the area rugs are located.Cleaning is fantastic. This is the first vac we've had that cleans the inside corners completely.Programing is fairly straight forward and you can set different suction levels, mop options and room selections.Cons:I'll be honest, there are not any complaints at this time. The Wi-Fi set up was straight forward but took a bit longer than I would have expected. Also the software required an update right away and even though it completed, I had to restart the app to finish which was odd.Overall:This is our new standard. We have it down stairs and it keeps the entire floor super clean. We are going to retire the previous vac/mop which we've used for a few years now, probably give it to our son for his house.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
