Before discovering the magnetic connectors I was constantly "stabbing" my phone and other usb rechargeable devices. The first used the type of magnetic charging cable that just charged and was completely satisfied with that for the fact I'd rarely connect my phone to a computer (only for picture dumps) and made usb rechargeable devices much easier to use. But getting a new car that had a wired connection for Android Auto I needed something that could do data transfers and this fit the bill. It saves on premature wear and tear on usb port of devices.The product feels durable and just the right amount of stiffness to avoid knotting/kinking.As for data transfer rates all I can say for sure is that it is fast enough for my usage.

I bought this charger on June 4, 2024 and it was great at first. Then on Monday, August 12, 2024 it stopped working for no reason. I tried to plug it into different outlets with no luck. It is a shame because it was working so well and I really enjoyed it.. I want my money back.

Charges fast. Easy to use. Keeps the charging port clean and reduces wear and tear.

The metal along the rim bends way too easily

This cable worked out great for me. I use this to charge my phone. I sometimes have a hard time hanging onto the little stubs it comes with, but other than that, suits me well.

I have to give this a three star because of the lack of ability to buy additional tips and how every company has a proprietary connector so you can't use other magnetic cables/tips. I love that this comes with a MicroUSB and USB-C as I still have several devices that uses MicroUSB such as my 2018 Kindle and Bose Soundwear. But that's only two devices. I have several dozen USB C devices. There's no other way to get the tips than to buy the cable in a bundle with one USB-C and one MicroUSB. They don't sell bundles of only the tips. It doesn't make sense to take the small tip and move it over to each device when I need to charge as I could just use a full cable if I'm going to plug something in and out anyways.For the lack of QoL, I have to give this a solid 3 stars. The product, if you consider it in a vacuum and without any external factors, is a 4.5 stars. I held off reviewing for several months as I wanted to see if Vention would ever release a separate product for just the tips but they never did. As it is now, the product may not be worth buying unless you only have 1 device with USB-C and 1 device with MicroUSB that you use actively.

This is a USB-A to USB-C or USB-Micro cable with magnetic tips. Read on for details.I am impressed with the build and construction of this cable. The connectors and cable sheath feel high quality and durable. The overall thickness of the cable is perhaps slightly above average which I prefer. In my experience, cables tend to be more susceptible to damage if they are too thin.Although the cable is advertised as a 60 watt cable, charging power is limited by virtue of its USB-A source connector. Most USB-A chargers do not put out anywhere near 60 watts – typically topping out at 12 volts @ 1.5 amps – which I did observe.The magnetic tip worked great – I was able to break away the cable plus the magnet was nearly strong enough to draw the tip out of the port when pulled straight out.I plan to use this solely as a charging cable on “at-risk” connections. What I mean by “at-risk” is if a connection might have stressors or potential for accidental tugging, pulling, or yanking (which would result in damage to the USB device’s port), this is a perfect solution. The cable will “break away” if enough force and angle is applied but when undisturbed, provides a solid connection.For example, I often walk around with my phone in my hand charging from a power bank in my bag. If I turn, twist, fall, or drop my phone, the cable will break free from the tip and minimize the potential damage to my phone.Another example is when I’m using my phone in my car, and I am frequently getting in and out during multiple stops, this cable makes it convenient to untether from my car charger and reconnect when I come back. This puts less wear and tear on the port from constantly connecting and disconnecting the cable from my phone.The magnetic tip is only on one side of the cable.What is a bit unique about this cable is its length and the included USB-C and USB-Micro tips. Generally, the most popular cable lengths are 3 and 6 feet. This one comes in a 5 ft length which is great if something longer than 3 feet is needed but 6 feet is way too long. USB-C is soon to be the general standard but there are still many USB-Micro legacy devices out there – which makes the USB Micro tip useful.The only challenge I see is storing the spare tip in a safe place without forgetting where it is! A few other magnetic tip cables have a usage/power status light – unfortunately, this one does NOT have a status light. Despite minor shortcomings, I think this cable is a great value – priced right and good quality.Thanks for reading and hope this helps.

After about 45 days, when I attach the cord to the "dongle" it says moisture is present and to stop charging. There is zero moisture present, my other styles of plugs work fine. It never got wet, just started doing this on night and now off & on but every night it says moisture present.
