D-Link DWM-222 4G USB Dongle - Draytek Router Failover.
I bought this as a 4G "failover" device for my Draytek 2762 router. This model, D-Link DWM-222, is listed for my older model Draytek & also appears as supported for some newer models. I initially couldn't work out how to insert the SIM from the instructions. A video on You Tube showed me how. However, it worked fine in router. I also tested it on Windows 10. It didn't initially initially run the install routine. I bought a "renewed" version. Full price is probably a bit steep.

Works well with draytek router
I used this with a Draytek 2862 router. Worked straight out of the box and gave a good connection. Software is a little out-dated for Windows 10/11, so may need to download latest to get up and running in some scenarios.

Windows 10 compatible, but not OSX 12.5 Monterey
Purchased to initialise sim cards, but doesn't seem to be recognised on my Apple Pro running OSX 12.4, but was on my old windows 10 laptop.

Avoid the 222 like the plague
I needed this device as a stop gap solution to a problem with my internet connection and this device refuses to act like a normal NIC which means it is incompatible with routers that have a USB.It is also a pain to upgrade the firmware because someone decided a Windows only .exe instead of uploading a firmware image to the 0.1 site means it can't be upgraded with Mac or LinuxAnd the Mac "comparability" is so awful I frankly consider mentioning it to be a lie, you have to install some awful software to result in an intermittent connection to the firmwares 0.1 site at best

Update the Firmware
I bought this modem to provide a direct USB WAN connection plugged straight into my new router (ASUS RT-AC88U). It was flakey at first, refusing to connect, then dropping out randomly after a few hours. The dongle came with 2.05EU firmware installed. After I upgraded the firmware to 2.09EU it has been rock solid. It's worth noting that updating the firmware on my old laptop with Windows 7 failed, but was successful on Windows 10 laptop.I am now happy with it. (Note that you will probably need the PIN # for your SIM card to set it up)

A piece of junk
This item is cheap tat, from the crappy case to the laughable instruction booklet! I tried setting it up on a modern MacBook Pro (Intel), the installation didn't complete successfully due to an unknown developer security warning. How on earth do a company like D-Link think it's acceptable to put out software that hasn't been verified?! I didn't even bother trying to get it working with Windows, it went back in its box and was sent back. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs, it's not worth £50 or your time.
