I bought a little mandoline on Amazon a couple years ago and I thought it was good. But the "stainless steel" blades started to rust so it had to be replaced. I chose this mandoline because of the adjustable blades, that it could fold down, and because it came with a safety glove. Holy cow. This madonline is a workhorse that puts my old one to shame. Very sharp, stable, and easy to use... and that glove! I was making a shaved Brussels sprouts salad and had to hold the small sprouts in my fingers when slicing them and that glove worked like a champ! No cuts in the glove or my fingers. My husband has even started using when grating cheese for his weekend nachos instead of scraping his knuckles on the stand-up grater. Very happy!

Some friends and I were planning a Tea Party for 60. My food contribution would be Cucumber sandwiches and Brie with Pear sandwiches. I especially wanted the cucumbers to be paper thin so I could layer them. This mandolin made PERFECT even slices. I enlarged the slice depth and sliced the Anjou pears, again, perfect slices. The pushers work very well and I appreciate the cut glove to protect my fingers. Easy to use, a snap to clean. LOVE IT!

Good value for the price. Easy to use and easy to clean. The different blades pop in and out without effort. To clean I just drop it in the top rack in the dishwasher.I would have preferred more/different blade options. 3 of 5 are grating/shredding and that's more than needed. I still am not sure what I'd use the grating option for since the two other shredding blades to use. That one is plastic, not metal.I like the safety glove very much, it really is safer and less cumbersome than the extra plastic handle piece that I don't really like using.The adjustable thickness is a must have for any mandolin.

Good quality and very, very sharp. Please take precautions when using this by wearing the provided protective glove! The adjuster mechanism to select your thickness when slicing is a little primitive, but it works.
