This book is phenomenal. It’s provided my son with a lot of reading and information.

great list of classic movies

The book completely leaves out 2012. I have no idea why and cannot make any sense of it. I know it’s a misprint or something. The pages follow right numerically. Anyone else notice this?

Ease of use.

Nice book

Title is a misnomer because this book is so frequently updated and more recent movies added. Sooo, to keep it at 1001, others HAVE TO BE REMOVED. Therefore, it is 1,001 movies for the year you buy it. Then it becomes stale and irrelevant except for old movies that have been kept from one edition to the next.

Great book spotlighting all the wonderful films from the beautiful history of the cinema and you put a front and back cover shot of two movies from last year? Two mediocre movies? And one a remake?What gives?

Luckily I was able to get this at my local library. Very disappointed not to see Coal Miners Daughter, Sense and Sensibility, Dirty Dancing, Urban Cowboy. Movies that I sure am glad I saw before I kick the bucket!

Loved it! It's a great guide on what to watch next. I particularly enjoyed it because, though it focuses mostly on Hollywood films, it also has a great selection of independent and foreign movies.
